Euro 2020 Qualifications – Friday Preview

Euro 2020 qualifications continue on Friday night with seven matches that will be played at 20.45 (CET).

The top two teams in Group A will play on the Sinobo Stadium in Prague as Czechia hosts England. The World Cup semi-finalists are undefeated in the qualifications so far, and they beat Czechia in their first encounter in March by 5-0. England is a heavy favourite again, and the win on Friday night will secure them a top spot in the group.

Montenegro must win against Bulgaria if they want to keep their chances of qualifying for the final tournament. Even if they do come out victorious, they have an imperative of winning against Kosovo in Priština on Monday to reach the playoffs.

The defending European champions Portugal is only one point above Serbia and five points below Ukraine in Group B. However, they also have one less game played compared to the other two, and they host Luxembourg on Jose Alvalade stadium in Lisbon on Friday night. Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, anything other than a convincing Portugal victory would be a shock.

Ukraine is expecting to win against Lithuania as well and secure their spot in the final tournament.

Quite unexpectedly, Turkey is still at the top of Group H, and they are likely to stay there after the next match since they are playing at home against Albania. The FIFA World Cup champions France has the same number of points as Turkey, and they will play in Iceland next.

Iceland is currently third in that group, with three points behind France and Turkey, so the game against the world champs can be a crucial one for them. Andorra and Moldova are playing in this group as well, but both of those teams have slim chances to make it to the playoffs.
