Neymar Persuaded Modrić and Ramos to “Push” His Transfer to Real and then Switched Allegiance to Messi

The Neymar saga transfer lasted all summer, but his anticipated move to Real Madrid or Barcelona didn’t occur.

Newspapers around the world have reported that Neymar is closer to Real Madrid, only to hear the following day that he’s more likely to go to Barcelona. A Spanish national daily sports newspaper Marca published a story revealing how the Brazilian footballer has switched allegiances during the transitional period.

In fact, Marca came to the information that Neymar “lobbied” for the move to Real until the Royal Club definitely gave up on him, because they couldn’t afford him nor sold any of the top-tier stars like James Rodrigues or Gareth Bale.

Florentino Perez has decided to give up on Neymar on August 20.

By then, Neymar was doing everything in his power to “push” the transfer. He even personally called the four most essential players in Real. First of all, Sergio Ramos, who often stated in interviews that a player of such calibre is always welcome at Santiago Bernabeu.

Neymar then spoke to Ramos’ teammates, Casemiro, Marcello, and Luka Modrić. In each conversation, he expressed his desire to play for Real and leave PSG.

Yet, when every opportunity for Real to buy Neymar eventually failed, he turned to his former teammates – Messi and the rest of Barcelona, and gave his “body and soul” to move to Barca.

He even offered to pay €20 million, which was the sum PSG demanded from Barcelona for his transfer, but in the end, it was all for nothing.

Stefan Nedeljkovic
Hi, I’m Stefan, and I live for sports. No… I’m serious, I literally live for sports. I grew up within a family unit where my mom was an avid tennis player, my father played football, and my uncles and aunts (all who visited us fairly regularly) played basketball and table tennis at a competitive level. So when we weren’t playing sports, we were watching it. And when we weren’t watching sports, we were listening to it on the radio in the car. So sports have always been a part of the fabric of not only my childhood, but also my adult life too. Personally, I can play most sports. But my favorite is tennis. Here at The Sporty, I’ll be using my all-rounder sports skills to bring you the latest and greatest from the world of sports. But I will also do my best to cover as much tennis related news as I can. So that’s me in a nutshell - game, set and match.
