The International Test Series games between India and South Africa begin tomorrow at the Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The first of three tests will be played from October 2 to October 6, while the remaining two are scheduled to take place in the following three weeks, with the last day of the test being October 23.
These two teams met in the T20 international game just a few weeks ago, when South Africa won 140 runs to 134. Prior to that, India got the better of their long-term rivals in the cricket World Cup this summer, after ultimately falling to New Zealand in the semifinals.
If India wins this test round, it will be their 11th straight home victory in this category, more than any other nation in history. The last test series between these nations took place four years ago when India won 3–0.
It goes without saying that India is the favourite in this matchup, as they are currently holding the number one spot in the Test rankings, while also winning their last Test series against West Indies in August.
The home team is putting their faith into the likes of Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Shami. Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markman, and Faf du Plessis are expected to be the go-to guys for the South African squad.
